Yeah, just had this number claiming to be Centrelink, but why are they not using MyGov? Not going to worry about it, reckon it's a scam.

I had a missed call on Easter Sunday at 8:30am and a message was left. It was to call Services Australia on the next business day. No message on MyGov sounds like a scam to me

I too had this and if it's Centrelink "Employment Line" or other why are they calling without using MyGov?

It wasn't a scam call Services Australia is a government agency that manages Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support and are bound by privacy legislation and has to ask all those security questions by law. It is to protect your privacy because it can be easy for scammers to assume someone's identity and take over their account. They ask those questions and include some that the scammer would most likely not know. The number given is a legitimate number. If you are registered with Centrelink for pre call SMS you will normally receive a text before they call you. The number you were given is the Employment Services (JobSeeker) line.

Received a text msg then a phone call 1 min later from a woman claiming to be from Services Australia and started asking me for all my personal details. Name, Address, Date of Birth then wanted to know what benefit I was on so I abbreviated the benefit which confused her then she asked for my email address. I told her that I was uncomfortable giving her anymore information and asked her what she was calling me for. Then I said could I call her back and the number she gave me was 132850. She had my name, phone number, address and date of birth but still could not tell me what the phone call was about.

This number is definitely not a scammer.
It's centerlink employment line.
They called yesterday. I called back today and they didn't ask me personal questions at all as the voice thing identified me.

I got a call yesterday. A woman on the line told me she was calling from Services Australia. When I asked her what the call was about, she replied that she could not tell me that on the phone. She was asking me to first confirm my personal details, address, phone, etc. She sensed that I was reluctant, so she gave me this number to call back: 132850. Today, I googled it and I was brought to this page. It was a scammer. It's obvious now.

Received a call from a man claiming to be from Services Australia asking me for my personal information. I DONT think so!! I told him I thought he was a scam. If he wanted my info he could tell me what it was about first... he wouldn't do this but gave me a number to call. I googled it and it says it's a SCAM

received call who claimed themselves as Services Australia, kept saying need to talk to the member then I asked who you wanna talk to then he flicked some papers and just gave the first name of my dad. I asked him whats the purpose of your call? he said he cannot tell and I said my dad cannot speak English so can I translate for him he said No, they need to use their interpretor.! and asked me to call back 132850 asap. but didnt tell any reason or anything, sounds like a scam! and its a No ID call.

A rather strange/cold voice from "Mohamed" from "Services Australia", asking for your date of birth... I refused to answer, asking to "call you back because of security reasons", then was given this phone number. If Services Australia/Centrelink behave this way (eg. using private/unlisted number, not using their secured messaging method tax payers paid them to build) then should I call back?

Got a suss sms from CENTRELINK saying i would be getting a call from a private number from services Australia and to answer it. Got the call they asked for dob address and full name and if I wasn’t comfortable that I could call a callback number. Gave me 132850. Could hear the sound of a radio or tv in the background. Definitely scam.

Had 5 calls from a private number, they left a computer generated message saying to call back Services Australia on 132850. That number is the main call number of services Australia, I rang busy at work to check on the validity of the caller. They thought it was must likely a scam because contact would normally be through the My Gov Inbox or a letter. This is around the 12 th scam that I have been subject to over the Xmas period, very convincing on the face of it, most coming through Chrome, except this latest one, just a phone call.

Wanted my address and date of birth to confirm identity. I baulked at the date of birth because I didn't know for sure it was Services Australia. She said that was fine I could call back and that the Services Australia no. was on the website and that it was 132850. Well, there is no such no. on the web site! She urged me to call back for the 26th?! Bogus for sure reading these other comments here!

Continueing getting calls from private number but hangs up and no message left. Managed to answer, some woman claiming from Services SA wanting my centrelink details. Would not give me any info unless I gave my details. Asked for call back number which she gave was 132850. That number is for Assessing Visa Application details. Strange thing is I am born in Australia and dont need a visa to stay here. Told her to send me message but have not recieved any.
