I received a text from Me_Bank saying I owed an amount on my credit card and quoted the last digits on me credit card but oops they forgot the very last digit and they said I was overdue but the REAL Me Bank would have been on my back a lot quicker on a different text. I didn't call the number 1300 976 063 the scammers wanted me to I called the legit number on my statement but the bank was so busy I couldn't get through to them. Guess other people are getting the same text. Scam looked pretty legit but make sure to check phone numbers PLEASE. Good try though.

Caller: Said ME Bank

Text said ME account ending 20939 was overdue. Said call 1300 976 063. I don't have an ME account ending in that number and the account/s I do have are fully paid up. Checked the 1300 number to find others have had scam texts as well.

Scam text claiming they're from ME Bank collecting credit card debt and told me to ring this scam phone number.

I got a false scam text message with this number saying I had an overdue bill with ME Bank of $629.22 (as I last used a ME Bank Credit card 2 years ago) and I paid off my credit card debt 2 years ago and never used credit to pay anything since. This text message told me to contact 1300 976 063 and I immediately recognised it wasn't a legit number from ME Bank however the text did a really good job of looking legit as the scammers used my actual last 5 digits account reference number in the text. The other reason why I knew it was a scam because I had never received any overdue notices or bills from ME bank in emails or mailbox (which is what any credit card company would do first if you have outstanding credit card debt). Be careful of this scam folks and always check the phone number first before calling it!
