It's a scam! they have stolen the audio from Woolworths insurance so when you call this number it sounds legit. I asked to be transferred to Australian call centre and the girl couldn't do it. When I hung up, I got a call from the same girl using an Australian number. When i told her I now knew she was a scammer she hung up on me. I contacted Woolworths Insurance direct (on the number listed on their website) and they confirmed it was scam!

I got a text message from this number saying I have a refund.
It’s not a scam.
I had car insurance with Woolworths in 2020, they couldn’t refund me because the card I use had expired, which is correct.
My refund is $9.35. I have given them a card that has little money on it.
I rang Woolworths insurance on their phone no.
Ask if it was a scam. They said no.
Woolworths use Hollard as their payment service.
In 2019 ASIC issued a statement that over charges had happened. You can google it.

Got an sms from Everyday Rewards and was told to call this number for a refund. I'm either suffering from dementia or that I live in parallel universe... I don't remember having insured with them in this life, at all... Coles yes, Woollies, no.

Genuine. I've dealt with three so far (old policies) and the refund comes through. If you are UNSURE if any such "Call centre" is genuine, TEST by providing a FALSE last name and birthdate. They do not SMS the entire old policy number for security reasons.

Be Careful. They left me a SMS text message to call back for some refund of car policy( i.e. some 8 years ago). I rang and the guy kept asking me for personal details and Credit card number.... I said I had to be careful as I was feeling that the whole thing was a scam... Then he transferred me to Hollard Insurance Customer Service... I told the man that I wasnot keen to give out car a new credit card details via the phone..... He then routed me back to the Start and soon dropped the call. Can I call ACMA or Police , perhaps?

Not a scam. If you had Woolworths Insurance in past they have overcharged and now required to issue refunds plus interest.

I received the sms and called the given number after finding it also listed on the Holland Insurance webpage. After reading comments here, I got nervous I’d done the wrong thing so called Everyday Insurance on the number published on their website. They confirmed it is legitimate. Refunds are being given for discounts incorrectly applied on past polices. Mine was from a number of years ago. It was a little over $50 in my case.

If you are unsure, please call Everyday Insurance to confirm.

There is no need to return the call using this number. Just call up the Woolworths insurance number and ask to be transferred to the customer solutions team who will then process your refund.

I got a text stating to call 1300 919 579 (Hollard Insurance who are underwriters for Woolworth Insurance) about a refund for my dad who passed away 4 years ago. I called Woolworths Everyday Insurance on 1300 10 1234. They put me through to the team dealing with refunds and Yes, they are giving refunds. If you don't want the refund, they will give it to a charity.

I think this is a scam as I have t had insurance with Woolworths in 4 years. The policy number is also only 4 digits and nothing like my old policy number. I ignored and deleted.

It's plausible that Hollands (Woolworths Insurance) have a legitimate need to refund old Woolies Insurance customers a small amount based on a previous error, however this process is deeply flawed. They are emailing stating you have some money owed to them (which sounds like a scam, because nobody ever gives you free money) and then getting you to ring a number, give them your personal details and then give them your bank details (such as your credit card). This is obviously a very bad idea, regardless of if they are legitimate or not.

I asked what happens to the money if I do nothing, and was advised that it would go to an unclaimed funds account, and then eventually to charity. I don't know if this is true.

I decided against giving them any of my details, and definitely did not give them my credit card or bank details. I would strongly advise that if there is any doubt in your mind that you do not contact them.

I rang after hours and a nice English speaking lady said it was General Insurance but it was Eastern States so please ring back between 9am and 5pm. Now I am scared to ring back after reading the above comments

Same old bogus Everyday Insurance (Hollards) spoofed number being used by d*ckhead cyber criminals. As this number along with (email: CustomerSolutions @ email.everydayinsurance.com.au) was not recognised it was left to ring out with no message being recorded on completion. Accordingly, the above number and email address have been blocked and reported.

This is clearly a scam as they are offering me some crappy refund of $7 for a period of insurance when I wasn’t even ensured with woolworths don’t fall for the fake reviews here saying it’s true

Caller: I called Everyday Insurance

The email message contained my policy number. That’s a sign it’s real - unless of course Woolworths/Everyday Insurance was hacked.

So I called Everyday Insurance on THEIR number 1300 101 234 and asked Mandy the robot for a human.

The call centre does sound like it’s in South Africa as someone else commented, both representatives had South African accents.

My card was expired (they had the last three digits) so I gave them a BSB & Account number. They said the refund can take up to 25 business days (five weeks).

FYI: If you use a special online savings account like ANZ Save account (not Flex account) money can only be deposited *into* it, not withdrawn *from* it by direct debit anyway - you have to transfer from it to Everyday account or to Flex account. So even if you don’t do the long route of checking I did (28 minute phone call because the first operator was inexperienced) then just use a one-way BSB/Acc number.
