Caller: Likely scammer Received a text apparently from ANZ sending a one time code to reset my password and if not me to call +6113-00-5018-27 (an odd way for a 1300 number to be displayed).
The code also was hyphenated which is unusual and critically I had not requested a password change so it was a potentially clever trick!
I ignored and searched for the 1300 number on the web knowing if legitimate it would immediately show up as an ANZ number, which it did not!
Beware any text that looks a bit off even if it appears to have come from your Bank!
Here is the message text:
New one-time code is 857-552 to update your password for internet banking. If this wasn't you, Please call +6113-00-5018-27
