If you'd like a laugh, tell them you have a Mac computer, or run Linux or similar not windows or no computer at all. Then see what response you get. They either hang up on you or argue with you why you should have windows not other.

This call came through on our phone. It was an overseas call but has listed the number. I Googled
the number and found it to be a scam. It was portrayed as being a virus on the computer.

these people ring every few weeks and tell me they are answering a call from my computer saying that it has viruses. I started off by being very polite and now just tell them to fornicate off.They dont get the message and repeated pleas to be left alone go unheeded. so only answer left tell them in no uncertain way what you think of them.

This number keeps calling me.

Scam call pretending to be Microsoft they call every few days, they know your name and after your computer data so they can scam you

I got a call from this number and it sounded like a call centre environment. The people seemed to have Indian [?] accents. They advised me that I had a virus on my computer and eventually asked me to download a program that would (I believe) enable them to have full remote control of my computer.

The two sites they tried to use were http://www. urgentechelp .com and http://www. ammyy .com [ spaces have been inserted to prevent overly helpful browsers from making links from the text]

DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO DO THIS !

Had this number come through mid-afternoon. Phone listed it as 'overseas' and then changed to display the number. Answered the phone and could hear people talking in the background (like a call centre) and someone breathing on the other end of the line....then they hung up.
