Hello,
I received a call recently on my unlisted home phone midweek at 1am. The call did not trigger my voice-mail and continued to rind until answered. When answered the line went dead within a couple of seconds.
The following message appeared on my phone screen caller ID: 100 sipvicious
Perhaps it was some play on words as a 'punk' tribute to Sid Vicious, the guitarist from the 70's punk band Sex Pistols?
On doing a quick internet search it appears the message is likely to be someone trying to run a program called sipvicious to hack into my phone/computer system. Some information on it can be found at this site: http://www.onsip.com/blog/2011/11/15/dodging-sipvicious-script-kiddies
Either way it was a rather unsettling message to have appear on my phone at 1am!
I'm not sure if anything malicious occurred and I was caught off guard (and half asleep!)when I answered to stop it ringing but I would recommend unplugging the phone rather than answering it.
Hope this is helpful. Thank you, Sally

+0000100 rang me today at 1pm Sydney time. Didn't answer. Curious I tried phoning and got " your call could not be connected. Please check the number and call again ". + means another country code has to be added. I assumed its via a mobile. I agree with above Sally - hackers.

Just received the following number on my personal mobile from 0000100. A quick search has not revealed anything,. Just wondering if anyone has had the same call.
Cheers

This call was highly suspicious!
The home phone rang midweek at 1am, did not activate the message-bank as all other calls do, and continued to ring until answered. The line then went dead within a couple of seconds of being answered.
It also registered the following on my screen: 100 sipvicious
Perhaps this was some play on words with a 'punk' tribute to Sid Vicious, the guitarist from the 70's punk band Sex Pistols? Or perhaps it was a message generated from my voip/sip (Session Initiated Protocol) provider? Either way it was a weird and slightly unsettling message at 1am, and the first of it's kind on my phone.
I'm not sure if anything malicious occurred but I would like to recommend this type of call not be answered. It caught me off guard (and half-asleep!) but I would personally unplug the phone in future rather than answer it.
Thank you, Sally
