It is automated call from ATO and said you are arrested and gave me number to call back.

Don't give info - they hang up anyway

Don't do anything...just say that you are calling the police...they hang up real fast.....wankers

I have received a phone call from this number (ATO) and I am waiting for them to arrest me and send me to jail

Caller: (08) 9468 9735 from Western Australia, called me.

An automated make very professional voice said ‘ it’s australian taxation office..’
I hung up and blocked the number.

Recorded message (English male accent) saying I owed money, return the call on a particular number (which I didn't write down because it SANG of being a scam), or I'll get arrested. What's scary though, I also received a text from the real ATO around the same time advising details of a quarterly payment. Now how does that work? Do these scammers have access to government databases?

Automated call "Someone is filing a lawsuit against you and if you don't call back we will issue an arrest warrant" What the hell???? Why no one is taking any action?

leaves a computer vmail advising a law suit has been lodged against me and I am required to return the call

First time they left message advising they were the ATO and second time there was a warrant out for my arrest. How many gullable people might fall for this. Since the number comes from Australia something should and could be done about it!!!

Surely the telephones companies can route these calls to the police. Scam

Left a robotic voice recording advising there is a lawsuit being filed against me and to call back immediately to prevent further action. Called back once and got a guy that was bearly audible then disconnected. Called back again and was hung up on. Called back another 4 times to either have the call hung up on, rejected or busy signal.

Phony ATO call. Using different variations of this number.
I have received 23 calls and now blocked all the numbers.
Why can't these people be arrested or their phones disconnected?
