says he was from Telstra, gave our name, address, home phone and then his name - said someone was coming out to change over modem - gave date, time, and id John Martin RM4641D - but then asked for our mobile no - when we asked why he didn't have it as it was with Telstra as well he said he didn't have that access - when we questioned and refused repeatedly he got short and said fine I'll send a disconnect notice. We hung up and called Telstra who confirmed a) they could access the mobile no and b) it was a scam, no job was listed under our name - so he was convincing up to a point but still not good enough as he couldn't confirm from his end - be very aware of this one!!!!

hung up when I answered the phone almost certainly the same moron already referred to on this site.

came up as potential fraud never answered and caller never left message so looks like scam to me

Caller: An assertive Indian man who calls himself John Wilson

This "John Wilson" scammer has been making these calls for 4 years now and his ultimate aim after gaining your confidence is to get you to download the AnyDesk or TeamViewer App so he can access your PC or tablet device and install a key logger. If this happens he could access your online banking accounts and passwords etc. He calls from various fixed land and mobile numbers, usually has a give away Indian accent and may even be part of a team of criminals working nationally. Over the years he has polished is approach and can easily gain the confidence of an unsuspecting target. My family have had 4 calls from him since 2020.
