Got a missed call from this number. Not going to call them back. However, I did sign up a new Bankwest account about 2 weeks ago so it may have something to do with that.

Got a legit call from BankWest from this number

It is a legitimate BankWest number. Our consultants would call in regards to either give you news about your current banking, follow up on applications or to get feedback from our services.

It is okay to say no if you are not comfortable with the consultant IDing you over the phone. We usually let you know that the call will be monitered for call coaching and training purposes. Then we are required to ID, via your full name or PAN, and a verbal security that you have set up with us, along with another question that has to do with your banking. We will never ask you for your PIN number or your online banking password.

You can most definitely ask for their name and extension, and directly call BankWest on 13 17 18 to discuss.

I too got a missed call from this number. Then I found they emailed me saying they couldn't get a hold of me and answered my queries through the email.

Number looks legit...as indicated in the email.

I got a call from this number from someone claiming to be from Bankwest. They wanted my security password. I told them that I didn't beleive that they were from the bank. They then gave me the real number of Bankwest, a fake name and fake extension number.After ringing the real bank phone number they confirmed that person doesn't exist in the bank and it was a scam call.

I got a call from the same number. Rang back, got a generic voice answering service. Picked "3" (General customer enquiry), it was a legit BankWest number but no-one could explain why I was receiving a call, there was nothing on any of my account info out of the ordinary or explaning the nature of the call and I was told to disregard it.Seedy...
