Indian claiming to be telstra managed to string him along for 5 minutes before he caught on and hung up
Caller: They claim to be Telstra
I’ve received multiple calls from people over the last few days, all with Indian accents (both male and female callers), claiming to be from Telstra. I point out that I’m not a Telstra customer. They try to tell me that there’s a security issue and that hackers have been interfering with my connection, and that I won’t be able to see any such activity. I said, “And you want remote access to my computer, is that right?” They hang up. Definitely scammers.
They are probably spoofing the phone number that shows up, too. I strongly doubt they’re actually calling from this number, or any of the numbers that have shown up when they call.
