Two rings then hung up

I am so very, very sick of this plague of scamming calls. There isn't a day without some new pest phoning and failing to leave a message. (There would be no point, and they'd eventually stop, if no one answered calls from unknown numbers - the only way to end the scourge.) My phone doesn't have the capacity to store all the numbers I need to block - dozens of them.

Went thru to VM. I always smile when they start chatting away to my VM. Then she hung up.

Scam call, never leaves a message, ring almost daily

Caller: Lizzy Dent from the "next step" fund raising centre -

she thought we answered and started her speil but she was only being recorded on our Telstra home line answering service.

Constantly annoyed by this mob on different numbers

Seems fraudulent

Call goes to answering machine but they hangup. Seem to get a lot of these calls even though registered on Govt. do not call register

Charity scammer.

Fundraising MAY be permitted via the do Not call rules, but pretending to be someone else( LIzzy Dent) is fraud.
Deceptive marketing techniques are also illegal.Yet the fed govt is allowing it.
Why? Because their rich mates have skin in the game

Always suspicious of unrecognised numbers from another state. No message left. I find hard to believe that the technology is not out there for the telcos to squash these.

If you have too many blocked numbers I save the rest as contacts with the name "do not answer"

Multiple calls on the answering machine, they never leave a message.

Money launderers and predators looking for old senile targets to harvest money

This mob of scammers also use (08) 9513 2281

Apparently it is illegal for them to leave messages on answering services.

It's actually a South Australian number because WA starts with 08 9xxx or 08 6xxx.

Obviously another charity. They do not even have the courtesy to leave a message - now blocked!
