Said she was from AGL offering me discounts on electricity and gas could she go ahead and change my plan? I told her to email me details so she wanted to confirm email address told her she could tell me and I would confirm. Then she wanted to verify my account by me giving her my surname and address. She somehow already knew my first name and suburb so when I said you tell me and I will confirm, she hung up! When I rang back initially a voice message answered saying AGL then it started ringing again and rung out and said leave a message for John Bower! Stay alert, good thing our telcos are on it! NOT!!!!! Are telcos in Australia just stupid as every other country in the world doesn’t have this problem and certainly not to the extent we have here!

Tried to ring me twice, one call after another. Luckily, did not answer my phone as I was driving.

Hung up when I answered

He knew my name and my wife claiming he is offering cheaper rates for electricity and gas from agl telling all particulars of my account I then hung up

I’ve just had this same scam attempt. Called me 3 times (no voice mail left) before I answered, the woman (I thought Filo accent) knew my name and asked for address which I regrettably gave before becoming suspicious. She also knew my husband’s name but told me an incorrect email and asked me to confirm it. I said I didn’t want to because I was concerned about scammers and she tried to convince me, she even gave the AGL contact number for me to call and then sent the review sms.

Indian accents of course, 3 missed calls so I called back 64 times hahahahaha
2 blokes and a chick, all confirmed AGL scammers.
They also informed me they have sexual relations with their parents - sick, disgusting people.

AGL scam attempt

Received a call from this number saying he was from
AGL. Asked how much I am paying, after stating I am will get $250 for an offer involving NBN internet. What, from AGL? This is not a telco. That felt weird so didn’t answer his question and instead said please not ring back with marketing info, I’m not subscribed to that. I wasn’t sure if it was spam or marketing but either way I wont answer anything. But in this case from
comments here it does point to spam.

Called me offering a better offer on my AGL plan and $250 credit if I changed. They had the current pricing of my plan. I asked to confirm via email and then a call back, but never received either. I've since called AGL who said they did not place the call and there are no such offers.

Caller from AGL said something about changing my plan and asked me to verify my name and address. Then sent me a verification code which I didn't give as it felt suspicious. Had a chat after to AGL through their app, who confirmed that it was a legit call from their sales teams.

the caller has in the past sent fake mail saying they are AGL and try to con me into a different account. A real Fake Team.

Received a call from a woman, saying I was getting a discount on my AGL account - They knew my name and suburb and asked me to verify my surname and address. Told them to email me but they said they needed to complete a disclosure over the phone first. After I confronted them about not being from AGL, they panicked and hung up. I then received a text message from "AGL" 0455 142 503) with a survey - This text had my full name. Fairly intuitive scam, please don't provide any details!

This is a scam caller pretending to be from AGL - they knew my name and suburb, which was very concerning.

Indian accented woman called saying I was due for a discount for AGL electric and gas. They knew my name and suburb and wanted me to confirm my full name and street address. Never confirm your details to someone who has called you! HANG UP

Fake AGL call.

This number was identified as spam by my Google pro pixel phone and I have received calls from it daily since 25/09/2023. Today I received a call every hour.
No message left.
I read the other comments.
Very dodgy.

Have had calls 3 business days in a row. No messages left. No idea who calling. If legit, they'd leave a message
