Received call at 5:05pm (5 minutes after office hours), from "Warren at AGL" - said he was looking for my husband, who he called by name. I replied "I'm his wife, how can I help you?". He hung up without saying anything more. This is NOT a usual AGL number.
Everyone needs to be very diligent regarding odd calls, sms & emails at the moment especially when the caller seems to know your proper name & other details, because OPTUS was hacked yesterday & apparently they had heaps of info on people, including past customers who are no longer customers.

Many country including Pakistan, bangladesh and some other county sound like Indian... stop saying Indian scam all the time...

Has called me 3 times in the last 3 hours (once every hour) have not answered due to the negative comments on here, they don’t leave a message. I dare say if it was an urgent matter for me personally, they’d learn to leave a message.

Was funny, joked him around for ages while I was watching youtube in the background and keep "forgetting my address" until he hung up... this call lasted over an hour and I spoke, perhaps 16mins of it total

It is AGL ringing its customers trying to get them to sign up with AGL internet and AGL mobile.
I had several missed calls and they don't leave a message.
I rang the number back and it is AGL.
no scam, just telemarketing.

called me at 1:15pm. saying they are from AGL. not sure how they got my name. but the idoit indian women won't stop telemarketing the NBN offer. I told them i have NBN at home. she continue advertising. i just hang up the f*cker!

They claimed to be from AGL. They knew my name and what products I had with them. They proceeded to try sell me internet and mobile plans. When said not needed they immediately hanged up. I called AGL to check and they had not called me - so scammer. Blocked number.

4 missed calls in the last few hours. Google flagged each one as a spam caller.

Received a call, didn't provide any info, he had all my info, signed up AGL NBN connection with $100 credit for existing customer. After hang up... called actual AGL NUMBER, rep confirm that it was from AGL, I have nbn connection added just now... SO IT WAS FROM AGL...

Before I answered Telstra message on my screen read Suspected Spam call.

Call was stopped by Telstra. I blocked number. Looked it up on here.
Sure enough. Some idiot thinking they're bright.

Called did not leave a message, called it back says its AGL but it's definitely not!!!

Yet the majority of scam calls come from a few regions in India. So seriously, start policing your people better before you start complaining about people calling Indians scammer. I hear Indian accent, I hang up. Rather be labelled a racist than to be scam.

Answered the number and it started playing hold music with a random automated message saying our operators will be with you shortly and please hold... as though I called someone and was on call waiting except they called me? So weird

Had same situation only I verified it was not AGL. It might be a number that is being spoofed? Samsung phone and Telstra both identify it as spam.

Calls eveyday at 1pm even after I blocked the number. Silent calls with no voicemail message just missed call dial 159 to opt out. Called the number back and sounded like AGL but I hung up as I had no cause to need to speak to AGL. I am with optus so Im guessing from the other comments on this site they got my info when optus was hacked

Called the 13 AGL number to double check, they claim they never called me. So it's probably a scam

Two days ago this number called me knew my name and wanted to talk to me about my energy plan claimed to be from AGL which is my actual company I was sceptical though as he was being really pushy so I told him I'm sorry but if I wanted to make any changes I'll call myself then hung up. Today they've tried again so came here to see if this number has had other complaints and I see it has several so I've blocked it
