Knew my name and mentioned survey by ABS. When I asked caller to confirm who they were they hung up. Foreign accent, female, reasonable english.

Said they were calling from my local council and were conducting a survey on the residents within the area.

He had a strong accent and it sounded like some sort of call centre noise in the background.

Caller advised Australian Bureau of Statistics, survey on population. Guessing load of rubbish as just had census, person talked like a salesman so just hung up.

Friendly Tip #5 Do Not answer calls from numbers you do not know or are dubious about with your name. If you use your name they know to repeat it so you believe the call is somewhat legit. IT IS NOT.
This call this morning was just silent, I waited for the delay from OS (via a captured local phone number), then said Hello sternly and they just hung up.
Scam/Nuisance call

Said they were from City of West Torrens Council which is not true.

I did not answer the call because I did not know the number. They did not leave a message.

My phone did not ring but received an SMS to say I had a missed call. Suspect they are just fishing for a callback.

Caller knew my name, stated he was conducting a survey for Charles Sturt Council. I declined to assist. He abruptly hung up. Caller had a strong accent & background noise was evident.
Suspect it’s a scam fishing for personal information. Time to change passwords!!

Caller stated my name then hung up when asked to repeat name of business. Strong accent. Number not connected on call back. Highly suspicious.

Caller stated my name saying calling on behalf of ADF then hung up when asked to repeat name of company.
