Called saying name was david and that internet would be disconnected today. Wouldnt say where he was from.

Caller: Telstra Hacker

Claimed to be from Telstra, Exhibition Street, Melbourne. Woman had a strong accent (sounded Indian) and was calling from a busy call centre, and she claimed that she was from Telstra and that my internet served had been compromised. She said that she could help me through it over the phone. She then asked if I had a Windows computer. I said yes. She said then she would put me through to her colleague who could help me. I said I wanted to confirm that they were from Telstra, and they said that they could provide me with my ID address number to show that they really were. I was suspicious so I asked him for his Telstra ID number, to which he said it very very quickly (D3509) and he became a little impatient/agitated. I said I would report him, and he said it was well within my rights too, and that I would find out that they were indeed from Telstra. I then called Telstra and they confirmed it must have been a hacking call. Very frightening, it sounded very real, and I can imagine my parents would have been fooled if they were home to take the call.

Claimed I had line issues.
Quite a noisy background, I said "Speak clearly or I'll hang up, you fkn scamming bitc#".
She hung up :)

Caller: claimed to be Telstra

caller said they were from Telstra Melbourne and I had a router fault and to test wanted me to press ctl, windows key and R. Fortunately I remembered this gives remote access to your computer, when I challenged them about the Number displayed on my phone was from S A they then gave another number 028000141 which I told them was Sydney. While they were on the land line I used my mobile to call Telstra NBN Service to confirm it was a scam.

23 January 2019. No message left. I don't return calls to people who don't bother to leave their reason for calling. I assume they are scammers or crooks. Genuine callers do leave messages, Thanks to those who have given similar information. I feel I was justified in ignoring these calls.

Said they were calling from Telstra and internet would be terminated for 5 days. SCAM

Said she was from Telstra but hung up when asked for her Telstra ID number
