Spam. Called from Adelaide on +61 left a message saying there is a warrant out for my arrest. I'm not from there or know anyone from there.

I had a call on my mobile a recorded message from the ATO saying there was a warrant out for my arrest!! Scam

Caller: Scam call

Automated message telling me that the ATO had issued a warrant for my arrest because of an overpaid tax return. ATO cannot and do not issue such a warrant and so I decided to ring them back😈

My sister had recently gone through the same scam however she had unfortunately provided details about her bank accounts. Thankfully, nothing came of it as she only has savings accounts (lucky her!)

Needless to say, my call (once picked up by a man) was not well received after I abruptly told them a warrant cannot be issued by the ATO and therefore they were scammers.

Interestingly, for such a purportedly serious issue (according to their recording) all contact has now been blocked by them (I wonder why 🤔) and therefore, I have been unsuccessful in resuming any further contact for such a spurious issue ... Funny that.

Beware and tell you loved ones - especially the elderly. These bastards are scammers.

Says that a warrant is out for my arrest because of them accessing suspicious amounts in my bank account and tax avoidance .
Gives me reference numbers and asks for my lawyer name and the deadline to pay is today ..,
When you call back same person answered saying he’s from ATO investigation unit
Also said the calls are reciorded
Cos I asked lots of questions he claims I’m hiding something ..

Let go to voicemail and like other reports, a robot voice was advising me of a warrant for my arrest. Told me I could call the "department" to cancel the warrant.

Same issue as everyone else, warrant out for me arrest etc

someone tried to call me from this number on my mobile. I rang it back from the house phone and it said in a message that the number was temporally out of order. Must be a scam. Don't answer .
