Yes, i got two missed call sfrom this number, looked here and you were right - Red Cross. But it showed up on phone as coming from Adelaide, amd here as located in Brisbane. Imthink the days when we could rely on area codes to tell is where the call came from are ling gone. I'ce had calls from a (country I won't name, but you can guess) spoofing the number of a building contractor not farmfrom where i live.
When you answer a call and immediately suss out it's robo call, you hang up. But your number, has now been recorded as viable because the call was responded to. Even if you didn't hang around to hear anything.
Andnthen there are the damn calls, often from "charities" that no matter how many times you block the number they''ll just call back from a different number.
And a heads up: I don't care if the caller is Australian amd the charity is a very well-known one. If it's not an outright scam, then it's a profit-seeking 3rd party's dommission paid casual work and after all the lurks they pull, as little as 5% gets to the charity. which has its own bosses and staff to pay.
