Caller: Male caller

The call showed as coming from Maitland, South Australia. When answered, there was a period of silence then a male caller with an Indian accent came on (accompanied by background noise which sounded like a call centre). He told me that he was from the security department of the Commonwealth Bank and that my (non-existent) account had just been debited by $450 and wanted to know if it had been a legitimate withdrawal and if not they would need to do some securtity checks on my account. I replied that it was OK and that I knew about the withdrawal and it was quite legitimate. He sounded surprised and asked "are you sure Sir?" so I replied "yes thank you, goodbye" and hung up. They keep trying, don't they! I suspect these calls originate overseas but are transmitted here via an occupied local number.
