Caller: They called me Pretty sure a scam; called at 5:10pm. Gary claimed to be from ACSC and quoted the corrected web address for it. (www.cyber.gov.com.au.) Said that my email and phone number had been breached by someone in Mt View Califormia; with some sort of duplicate access with social media and that there had been "complaints". I confirm that I had not shared any passwords. I said he and his supervisor would lead me through things. Tried to get me on my device and said I would need to download google meetings to use it. When I said that I would not be switching on my device again today and to describe what I needed to do: refusal. I asked if the required action is installing VPN: he said not. I asked him, if this is genuine (which at that moment I was suspecting not), to describe what action it was that I needed to do so that my computer whizz friend could assist me tomorrow. Delay at start of call before speaking (should not be needed if call actually as shown on my phone, i.e, South Australia), and accent typical of India or like region.
