Is a scam phone number saying they are paypal do not call

Added to a scam PayPal email with a payment request. Advises you to contact this number if you do not recognise the seller.

They have now started using (08) 7333 3999 as a replacement scam number to commit the same dangerous costly scams

They called hang up and when you call back you get an AI scam message BEWARE DANGEROUS NUMBER>>>>>

This number was listed in he notes as per previous complaints. Following a text advising of purchase. Played along until they asked my mother to install third party software and told her they couldn’t do anything to stop the transaction or close her account without that software. At that point we called them out and they hung up. Massive scammers. Do not call them. Would be great if there was a phone number to call PayPal so now we are stuck on chat on PayPal’s legit website waiting for a call. Had to remove all payment options from account.

They get you by it showing up on your PayPal account. They want you to go to a secure connection and talk you through the blocking process. The default access is unattended access which raised my suspicions and I left the call. I googled PayPal phone number and they confirmed that this is a scam and a way to get remote access to your devices. This has been reported and the name of the seller has been banned from PayPal, however they will just use other names.

Scam. Do not call. They request money they put in ‘notes’ the number to call if it isn’t authorised. They then reset your password and have you give them the code that texts you. All seems legit. They get you to verify your details as PayPal blocks partial and they can’t see it all. They can also approve the money request from your account. Biggest scam! Do not call. Do not open. Log into PayPal and cancel the request yourself. Do not give them anything.

They send you a PayPal request and put their number in the ‘note’ looks legit but fully scam. They use you to login into your own account by asking you for the 6 digit code and reset your password. They get you to ‘verify’ your details as on your account they can see partial numbers etc. they all approve the money request from your own account. Be careful!
