NBN to disconnect Copper Wire and replace with Optic Fibre. Seemed very pushy about organising a tech to visit premises. Very suspicious, so said I would contact either my provider or NBN direct. The NBN number she gave didn’t work. Further searching revealed no current plans to upgrade in my area. I told them no one is to step foot on my premises, I would wait until I received it in writing. I told them I didn't believe them and they were full of it! They hung up on me.

Caller: Indian callers This call showed as coming from Adelaide South Australia. When answered firstly there was a female caller with Indian accent who told me that there was about to be an update to my modem for the NBN in my area. A technician would arrive at my premises to carry out the modem change, they then gave a special code number that the technician would use to identify himself when he arrived. Next a male caller came on (also with an Indian accent) explaining that a new modem was necessary so that the system would work with fibre optic instead of copper wire. He then explained that I would have to pay a small up-front fee (via my credit card) in order to have the job done. They even gave a special 1800 number to call in case of problems. I told him not to bother, as the existing system was working quite well, then hung up. It certainly sounded like a scam (more elaborate than usual) to me.

Caller: David Apparently someone was trying to make mastercard transactions on my Westpac account. Ha, sucker, I don't have a mastercard or a Westpac account. Oh and by the way you really need to block out background call centre noise.
