Female called regarding an "accident" I supposedly had - when I quizzed her she claimed she had my details from an accident and had the cheek to suggest that, if it wasn't me perhaps someone in my family had an accident and provided my details. Not the first time I've had this type of call - it is an absolute scam. She was looking to extract my personal details and became annoyed when I challenged the integrity of her and the validity of what she was claiming. I have blocked the number.

Caller: "First response team - Australian claims"

Told me they were calling about a car accident I had in the last 3 years and that they had compensation money they could pay me. I said there were no accidents. They suggested a family member could have given my number. I knew it was a scam so I asked them to email me details of the claim. They sent a dodgy email which confirmed it's definitely a scam.

This was the email:

My name is Marc and I am from the First Response Team of the Australian

Caller: Scam

Asking for someone else, then I said I don’t know anyone with that name. They said it was technical error and asked if I had been in a car accident. Scam call

Caller: They are cold calling pretending to be insurance

They care cold calling about a fictional car accident hoping you will tell them about a real one so they can get money and information form you so if the claim is paid out they also get compensation

Claimed to be from Accident Claims Management, 1 King William Street, Adelaide. Wanted to talk to me about my Workcover claim for the accident I had been involved in.
I don't have an Workcover claim, nor have I been in an accident.
