SCAM. They called me telling me they were from Telstra and said they could fix my internet problems. I said i was with TPG and they immediately switched their tac, saying that Telstra provided broadband services to all. They said they would fix my internet problems and I said I had none. He said every time i go on the internet my computer downloads many peices of small bits of information and they clog up my computer wihtout me noticing. I replied, i know what cookies are but they have not clogged up my computer nor does this relate to my broadband connection. He asked me to go over to the NBN box and I was feeling bad for being rude so I obliged but somethign was off. I said, I would prefer that you emailed me so that I knew this wasn't a scam. You have my email address yes?" He said yes, "we emailed you but you never replied." "okay I'll go check now. I can't see anything." "It's in spam." "There's nothing here in spam. The reason why I am asking you to email me is that I am concerned that this is a scam." To which they immediately hung up.

I suspected this was a scam call and didn't answer it. From the above looks like I was right and they are still using the number. Once a number like this has been advised to be a scam why can't they be disconnected by the telcos or the Govt?

I’m guessing a scam call based on everyone else’s calls. I struggled to understand his accent although he was very polite. Something about saving $4000 a year with insulation, initially told me it was a NSW government thing for all commercial properties, however I told him I didn’t have a commercial property and he changed it to all residents. Number is not a NSW area code however.

Had a msg saying this was a potential fraud call, so didn't answer. Lots of msgs here confirm that it's a scam number.
