Caller: Supposedly an Amazon Voice call

Your subscription is about to be renewed $99.00 If you don't want to renew and cancel press 1. I pressed 1 and got what sounded like a male person with an Indian accent who asked me to go to Play Store and install an app called Anydesk.

For those who don't know, Anydesk is a remote software used to control smart phones and computers etc. He kept saying trust me, trust me and we shut everything down by turning the phone off.

Although we are Amazon subscribers, we have no active subscriptions or credit cards on any Amazon related accounts so we should not have had a notification saying our renewal subscription was imminent. So......we put this notice up so you, the person reading this, and others are aware of this scam.

Imagine losing control of your smart phone and everything on it.

Total scam. Claiming to be from Commonwealth Bank fraud department. Had same call yesterday from the same number but (03) rather than (08)

I received a call from similar state SA, Aus- (08) 7092 2524 two hours prior. I do not answer these calls unless they leave me a voice mail. Scam for sure just Block!

Same number but different story - a woman with a South Asian accent said she was calling for a final confirmation for my iPhone 11 order...when I said that I hadn't caught everything she had said, she became rather irate ('Are you a deaf m**********r?'). Everyone has bad days in the office, but there is no need for potty-mouth!!!!

Scam call, just block

Same number but claimed to be from Cyber Crime Department of AFP

Caller: Claimed to be the Commonwealth Bank Fraud Dept

Caller asked if I had authorized a payment to a person in the USA. It didn't take me long to realise this call was a scam. I kept the person on the phone so I could gather as much info as I could, and without supplying any personal details. The person wanted to have access to my computer to block fraudulent IP addresses.
I terminated the call, then looked up the number on this site, and then contacted the bank to report the scam.

I answered, but no reply or noise from the other side.

they called and hung up with no message when answering machine started so reckon scammers

They asked if I own a pc ? I said no they hung up !

Missed call, did not leave message, rang back gives engaged signal, Blocked.

Caller: Telstra

Stated people were accessing my internet illegally with multiple IP addresses and they were wanting me to log on to a computer so they could walk me through the process to be able to block them. I told them no and that I would contact Telstra directly if this was in fact true and hung up. SPAM do not give them access l.

Caller: This same number

Didn't answer it - thanks to Denise above for the heads up. Even if it looks like a local call, be cautious!
