Called 1300 139 648. Got a recorded message and asked to wait. Waited about 1 1/2 mins. Alison came on line & asked me how could she help (....very politely) & that I was being recorded (....very politely). I asked to have our number removed. Alison obliged (...very politely).
The point is....WE SHOULDN'T NEED TO BE SUBJECTED TO THIS.
The effect of the above on me is this: there is NO WAY I will EVER donate to PCYC Fund Raising now. Someone needs to do a course in social facilitation as your approach is having a repellant affect. That will not help with your fund raising. The politeness is insincere and manipulative. Get real.

It is a call centre based in Adelaide on behalf of the NSW Police Youth Club raffle.

They rang this afternoon, I asked them who it was, they hung up. Real professional (*sarcasm*).

Rang the number and a recorded message said it was for NSW PCYC and to call 1300 139 648 if you wish to speak to someone. Rang the 1300 number and told the person that answered that I did not want to receive any further calls from them. She was polite, took my number and name and said my number would be taken off their list.

Yeah, constantly calling me too, then hangs up when answered.

Yeah I got a call from this number today too, as soon as I answer they just hang up! Strange... telemarketers no doubt...

i get this number ringing everyday and i have answered a few times and then it rings again so i just hang up and dont answer now

If they are a charity seeking donations then why do they not talk when phone is answered or they just hang up!!!! That is why so many people are suspicious, their operators obviously need more training.  I would never donate to a charity over the phone and give out personal details.

calls twice a day most days does not stay on line very long does not leave messages.just stop it.

Received 2 call from this number, both time I let it run into the answering maching in each case they hung up.

I think it's probably a call centre calling on their behalf. Yes at least 3 or 4 calls a day at the momentregards Tim
