My phone advised me of this being a potential fraud caller. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message. I didn't call back.

Scam caller claiming to be from Telstra.

Knew this was a scam immediately. Caller claimed to be from Ebay and that someone from California had ordered $500 from my account and that the payment had been put on hold. Asked if I knew anyone from California and I said no. I asked which ebay account and he said they couldnt release that information. They then asked if I wanted to allow payment of the $500. I said well obviously if I know nobody from California and I had not used my account for over a year of course I didn't want it to be paid. The male caller wanted to talk me through the steps I needed to take to stop payment. I asked him how it would be possible for someone to charge my card when I dont have an active card connected to Ebay. He said that they had caught it, needed to stop the payment and follow instructions given by him at which time I told him where to go.

After answering the call a voice recorded message advised that it was PayPal security calling to authorise a payment. I hung up. It's definitely a scammer.

Returned call to be told to leave Name and Number and they would respond ay "my"earliest convenience. Clear English spoken - possible voice recording going on here?
