When I get these calls I try to string them along for as long as possible. I pretend to be an old person who doesn’t have much money and can’t afford to pay the (fake) crypto/ebay/Amazon charge they say I’m liable for.
Then I say “Let me ask a question: does your mother know you’re a criminal? Is she proud of you?”
If I waste their time for a while that’s less time they have to scam someone else.
I hope that if they hear the question about their mother they might think about what they do. A lot of the callers are just kids desperate for work. Maybe they still have a conscience that can be reached.

Caller: Claimed to be Amazon

Received a call from an Indian guy claiming to be calling from Amazon . He said that there was a suspicious purchase of iPhone 15 using my Amazon account. I straight away hung up the phone.

Called and hung up immediately I said Gary speaking. I've heard these scum are hoping you answer yes.

Caller: Probable scam

Landline call which hung up on answer.

I answered the call - it was a robocall claiming to be from "Visa". Scam call.

One of three calls received, but no answered, within seconds of trying to verify a scam purchase of iPhone5 on eBay using my paypall account.

hung-up did not leave a message. Engaged signal when called.
