Caller: Said PayPal

I didn’t answer call as it was from Perth, they left a message (think it was recorded) “thank you for shopping with PayPal, this is a confirmation call from PayPal, we have received a purchase request of $299.39 the same will be debited from the account, if you cancel the order press one or call back on this number” I used a different phone and called the number, they answered as just as “PayPal”, so I asked again so this is PayPal? he said it is PayPal customer service, I advised I had a missed a call from the number, he asked if A message was left, I confirmed, he wanted to start asking me questions, I said no doesn’t matter I will ring PayPal & hung up. I did ring PayPal and they have a 1800 number ( not a direct phone no to a noisy call centre) the real PayPal number you press buttons depending on what your call is for, paypal confirmed nothing was on my account for that amount and will report this phone number. I am just so sick of these scam calls and we need to report and get them shut down. Govt and corporates need to do more to stop these scams but that will not happen if we do not report them.

How is it these scammers carn’t be tracked to the phone number.

Missed call. Thanks to advice above, have blocked the number.
