This number rings my work phone at least 2 times a week, and then hangs up in the middle of my greeting. It's really bloody annoying!

These guys ring every day and hang up while i'm talking.... Telstra should put a stop to these type of phone numbers
or at least allow land lines to block the number just like mobiles

Another hang up and when I ring from a private number, the number is constantly engaged. Love to know who this number belongs to.

My experience is if you block one number, you will get calls from another number. I used to get it once every couple of months. Last week, I decided to block the number. Within 3 days I received calls from 5 different numbers. Lucky my Samsung can tell if the numbers are potential fraud or SAPM. Still annoying. :(

This number calls several times a week at my work. Normally as the others have mentioned it hangs up during my greeting. I have also tried to call it back and always engaged. This time as I recognised the number I simply answered with hello , there was silence and then an obvious computer generated voice said goodbye and then hung up.

Answered the call but there was no one on the other side and in about 5 seconds an automated voice said "goodbye". How polite!

I called the number back after reading this thread. The girl I spoke with, Stacey said their system was glitching which is why it hangs up. When I explained we were not interested in fleet fuel cards - she was very rude and demanded to know why not. just don't answer!

I received a call from this number. As I did not recognise the number and due to numerous calls from so many “fake” people/companies these days, I now let all of my calls go to message bank.

My logic is this, if they are seriously looking for you they will leave a voice message or text you. If they are not serious, they will NOT leave a message, case in point today with this number.

After allowing the call to go to message bank, I check to see if they have left a message or not. If they have not, I then jump on google to see if there have been complaints with this number. In this case, after checking with this number on here, I can see there have been numerous complaints, therefore I put this in my call block list.

There is also another technique that might be used, they will call you once, if rejected or not answered, they will immediately call you back, by the theory that most people will answer the second time, thinking that it must be an emergency. If they do not leave a message the second time 99% of the time it will probably be a telemarketer or scammer because if it is an emergency, in my opinion, if someone is trying to get hold of you they will continue trying to get hold of you until you answer and most likely continue to leave messages.
