Hey I just had the same thing happen .. Tried to call back and said by Optus the number was just disconnected ...
I too thought it was a bit odd :/ How can one call from a disconnected number? suspicious.

Had a missed call from this number - dialled it back about hour and a half later and an "Optus" voice message advised that the number had been disconnected.... Bit suspicious to me.
