Service NSW impersonation scam. Red flags: the phone's area code is outside NSW, and the number they called isn't the one I registered with Service NSW.

She (female, Indian accent) claimed to be from Service NSW and detected that my driver's license details have been used on the Optus website. I asked for a reference number and an official phone number to call them back. Her initial response was that she will call me back later but when I asked again, she gave me the Service NSW 1300 number and a 6-digit reference number. I called Service NSW and they confirmed that this is an impersonation scam. The scammer was trying to get me to confirm my details with them.

Indian IT Support. Starts the scam with a few questions then hung up when I said don’t bother me Im a systems engineer.
