You can hear them breathing on the phone and some background noises, but they would not speak.

I got a call when I was asleep. He told that he is from Telstra. He told me my name and asked if I am the one he is speaking too. He told about NBN network stuffs. I told its already connected. He asked if he can record the conmunication, I told yes. Because firstly I was in half sleep and secondly there is always a question before Telstra answers the calls that this conversation will be recorded for sth purpose. After that he asked my date of birth, I said I cannot give you. Later on, he wanted to talk more. I start yo doubt so I told politely I think there is no more to talk so I would like to end the call.
Now after reading the above message including voice recording for scamming, I am too worried. I hope nothing wrong will be because my voice is recorded and I mistakely gave permission to record it.

Not sure whether the number being discussed is a SCAM or not, but can confirm that NBN does text. We are currently having NBN installed and they have texted about half-a-dz times to confirm appointment time.

This number calls us every single day, we don't pick up as we know it's most likely a scam as no one calls us on our landline. We are also a private number on the do not call register.

If Telstra, or any other carrier, were to tell you who you could or couldn't call what would be your reaction? Carriers can't stop this as they don't know the intent of the call so can't filter bs from legit calls. BTW I'm here because I get unwanted calls and also would like them to stop.

Caller: Nicole - robo call

"NBN Nicole" scammer robo call. Rang four times today. Usually rings about three times a day starting around 1.20 pm in the afternoon, finishing around 7 pm. Calls are usually an 07 or 08 prefix. Obviously computer made calls and not real phone numbers. I have easily received this call at least 100 times over the past several months. I look at the number on the ID screen and ignore if an 07 or 08 prefix. Beyond a joke. They know which areas the NBN is being installed and target phone numbers in that area.

I called back and received the usual decision tree. They last called on 2/7/2019 & 11/7/2019 and I rang Telstra back then and they advised me these were not Telstra nor related to them in any way. The Telstra number is slightly different. These are either total crooks or a business skimming illegally obtained Telstra data for clients. Probably both. I have a private number so I can only assume they stole data or randomly robo call all numbers in a regional prefix.

Irritating caller who rings, hears answering machine, does not leave message and hangs up. May be linked to NBN marketing.
Called Telstra to request that this number be blocked from calling my landline.

they call a couple of times a day I do not answer these numbers no messages left I have just gotten out of hospital from very serious surgery I have had enough

scam...pretending to be telstra re NBN...Telstra would always communcate via email/mail first.

Have phoned several times a day for the last few days..since we are now NBN ready. He said his name was Jason ….he had my name and asked me to verify DOB...when I asked why and what he was calling about several times he said the line was quite bad and he would have to call back..He did mutter something about the NBN.

My message states: "Leave a message or you will never talk to me, if you are an inconsiderate telemarketer or an annoying scammer don't bother."
I DO NOT ANSWER ANYONE I DO NOT KNOW.
Then I block any numbers that I know to be scams.
Got so annoyed with so many CALLS a day that I purchased a phone, just so I could block numbers and listen to the answering machine before I answer.

IT HAS WORKED WELL SO FAR!

Have had several calls from them, I don't answer and they don't leave a message on the machine.

Caller: Telstra NBN

They call almost daily & never leave a message, if you answer there's silence on the other end. I called the number back, it's Telstra NBN
