Said it was concerning a motor vehicle accident I was involved in. I haven't been involved in one at all.

Usual scam, automated female voice, “this is Amanda from the claims department (nice change, it’s usually “Steve from the claims department”); If you are your family member has been in an accident in the last two years press one. If you want to have your number removed press 2.”

Scam!!! Computer generated LOCAL call from an alleged insurance company concerning a claim which has never happened. This number is now blocked from my phone. I would advise anyone else to do the same. It's a WA registered number so ASIC (or whichever is the relevant dept) should really get onto them and shut them down.

Told me he was ringing about the automated call regarding a car accident. Asked me if I'd had an accident I said no, so he said he'd take me off the register. He also knew my name.

I called back. A woman answered the phone but spoke so fast I couldn't catch it. I said I got a missed call from this number - and she immediately hung up! ... Legit people/businesses don't behave like that. Suspect a scam!

I get calls from 62053938 and others similar 62053937 twice a day. They either hang up when you answer or they leave a message saying they are from fictitious claims department.
