I don’t know anyone in the other side of the country so I did not answer. Second call today, other number was (08) 6187 3520.

Caller: Apparently Peter Van Johnson from Telstra

He told me my internet connection was unsecure, but wouldn’t tell me any of my personal account details until I ran through some tests with him. He gave his Telstra employee ID (19268507) but I said that meant nothing to me. I obviously was doubtful and said I wasn’t comfortable continuing because I thought he was a scammer, especially if he couldn’t provide my account details. He soon said to have a nice day and ended the call. Wish I didn’t answer.

Caller said she was from Visa and Mastercard Security department wanting to talk to me about transactions that had occurred on my internet banking and needing me to verify my accounts. I hung up.

Caller: ebay scammer

Tries to get me to authorize a $500 gift card purchase from ebay.
Got very upset and didn't sound very professional with me when I asked him to explain it (four times) hehe
Then we I agreed that I did purchase a $500 gift card from ebay he still went through the script as if I didn't order it.
These scammers are slipping, I tell you.

Caller: Nuisance caller from paypal

Claiming to be either eBay or PayPal but calling from a spoofed number from Perth or Adelaide

Caller: Claiming to not know! He was talking about PayPal invoices when the attached email was about eBay

Rang me: asking why I’d rung. I had called them as I noticed an email regarding 6 x $100 eBay cards I’d never purchased from a suspicious email.
They called back today asking “did YOU call about a PayPal invoice?” But when I said that the number attached to their email was from eBay, he got confused. I also said that the information on my phone said Adelaide & yet this call, today, originated from Perth. When I asked where they called from, he didn’t know! Basically they’re spoofing numbers daily, they claim to be Optus one day, eBay the next & later, PayPal- desperately reaching for anything to begin the scam. The guy was SO confused you could hear him speaking to another scammer in Hindi.

Male, Didn't speak English. When asked to speak English, continued as before. I then hung up. Nuisence call.

This seems to be my day for nuisance calls. This was the latest number that hung up on me as soon as I answered after only 2 or 3 rings.

EBay scam

Scam robo-message thanking me for placing an ebay order and my account had been charged $300+. I hung up before it finished.

Identified as being from NBN Network. Told me all my internet and mobile phone servises were going to be disconnected for three days. Wanted me to set up new services to avoid this.
After playing along for a while, I pointed out this was a scam call and I was just playing with her. She then suggested I go and make love to myself. A NBN rep would never do that.

Scam. Recorded message saying that my Amazon Prime account is about to expire. Said that my bank account would be automatically debited $99 for the renewal. Wanted me to “press 1” to find out the details. Funny that I don’t even have an Amazon Prime account or even an Amazon account. I am sick to death of scammers and have considered not even having a mobile phone - but unfortunately it is so convenient to have it.

I had a call from this number, didn't answer the call as I didn't recognised the number. EVERY SINGLE DAY I HAVE AT LEAST 2-3 nuisance calls and I AM SICK OF THEM. You can never be too cautious.

Missed call from this number. Had a call from a similar number yesterday around the same time as well and Truecaller identified that number as an "ebay scam".

I missed the call but highly suspect it was a scam as yesterday I received a scam call and they used several numbers to contact me.

(08) 6186 7564 called but left no voicemail. Then i saw other people here are uncertain about the status of this caller. These days I only answer calls if they are in my phone contacts or else i will call back if they leave a voice message.

Rang me today and missed the call but wouldn’t pick up when I tried to return, guessing it’s a scam number.
