Just added to my blocked calls register. If you have caller id and a phone with the option to call block - use it!

I called this number after having many calls from them on which the line went dead or our answering service picked up. The calls became annoying so I decided to call the number to make it cease. They are a Charity Group which is apparently exempt by Law from the Australian "DO NOT CALL LIST" ( which we are on). If you call them back on this number and speak to Customer Service they can take you off their automated call list, however, this can take up to a week to happen.

Apple Marketing group are a legitimate business in which underpaid phone operators work their butts off to not be appreciated. The staff are abused constantly by potential supporters, and yet are expected to keep going. They only help charities that are not for profit charities. Unlike many of the charities out there. So many ppl here have stated they do not support charities by phone. Just a quick FYI, companies like Apple marketing are much more cost effective than trying to pay more than 10000 people per state to door knock or stand in the middle of a hwy shaking a tin.I have read all of the mission statements here. Yes I'm sure the calls can be annoying, but I have found that polity asking them to put me on a once a yr call list, or telling them I'm not in a position to support works much better than abusing them. Try and keep in mind that the caller is doing their job as asked to do, and a lot of them do believe in helping these charities. And as for not leaving a message, I'm pretty sure that by law they are not allowed to. However they can leave a verbal message for the person they are trying to contact if someone answers. And as I have worked in call centers previously, the only way you can be called more than once a day is if an answering machine picks up or there is no answer when call is connected. So just staying quiet on the other end puts you straight back into the dialer, saying no thanks stops you being called for a while. After reading so many comments here, my faith in humanity is truly fading. These ppl are not the devil or worse, the Australian Government, they are hard working, underpaid supporters. I don't give a sh*t about the company itself, but lets try and be a little more humane to those who are on the other end of the phone. It's like 2 mins of your day, not the end of the world

I rang Apple marketing (07) 5560 4900) back after receiving a charity request call and requested politely to be taken off their calling list, as I never give to charities by phone, and stop giving to a charity I previously gave to if they persist in phoning. They were courteous and undertook to take my number off their list within 10 working days. They apologised in advance for any call I received before the action took effect. They are a legitimate company: http://www.applemarketing.com.au/

I have had several calls that hag up after I answer in the last week.

I think it is the company recording times when there is a 'live' person is home for a telemarketer to call. It is a common tactic.

If you start getting hangups, start NOT answering your phone, then *10# to get a number, which you can check here, although most places such as these have private numbers, so even *10# cant help.

You can make a complaint to the ombudsman if you do get a number such as this time, and lodge a complaint, they will have to do something eventually.

When you pick up a call, if there is a moment of silence, that silence is the moment a computer dialler is listening with voice recognition for analogue sounds in order to switch the call to an operator who then starts phishing.
If there is a moment of silence do not utter a word but to try to imitate a fax "whistle" or play a recording of same. The computer will disconnect the call as its purpose is to hit on people. The computers dial in blocks of 1000; say, (07) 5560 0001 then 0002, etc, and will dial your number before it computes that you're on the DNCR.
If you do talk to the operators, they will harvest any info' you tell them: If you say, "Crikey, leave me alone. When we get home from work we don't want your calls interrupting a relaxing beer with pizza," against your number they will log that there are: (a)several people who (b)both work. They (c) drink alcohol -(d)beer and dine on (e) takeaway food -(f)pizza at (g) 6:30PM.

Repeated calls from this mob for the last month. Annoying because illness in the family means it is harder to ignore. I am grateful for the suggestions made by others. I agree with the complaints - whatever the groups they are canvassing for, they are still telemarketers exploiting me and invading my privacy

Always Happy to receive a call from the friendly staff at Apple Marketing Group. A lot of you posting if you don't ask questions then you stay ill informed and post childish things on the Internet! How old are some of you? Where's your heart. At home I'm on the do not call register but the are a charity organisation. I'd rather have a call in the comfort of my home from a charity rather than when I'm at the shops. It doesn't hurt to be kind. They work hard to support less fortunate Australians. I have a brother who suffers from Epilepsy which is one of the charity they fund raise for. I'm a regular giver to this charity. I kindly tell them them that and to call me when they are fundraising for other charities or they have a raffle on. It unaustralian to be rude. What benefit is it to you to be rude? Be friendly and polite to them because believe it or not? It will put you in a better mood and also them to help fundraiser to the next person they call. Your rudeness may be the reason another person won't be willing to donate to them. They are humans your talking to! Would you talk like this to your son or daughter shame on you? Think about that next time your nasty! Them supporting a cause and also raising awareness of the charities they support. I don't know about you but I'm not going to walk into a fastfood store and say "hey, your making children fat?" F off" don't you see how immature this is? The disgusting thing is it's mostly us older people are rude to these lovely humans. The reason for me writing this I had a call recently from one the girls who just started working for Apple it was her first day she had informed me that she applied for the job so she could do something good for other people that would make her proud and happy when she left the office every night. She heard from a lady go get a honest job! She actually broke down as she thought why is she saying this to me? This the most honest job I'm supporting charities. It left her heartbroken. She said to me we get paid less than other telly marketers but I would never work there as they lie to people to make a sale. She was offered a job a at an energy provider but turned it down because how would she know that provider would get her to sell more expensive energy to people. If she doesn't believe in it she not going to do it. The funny thing is she said to me she would get fired for telling the people just that. I think we may have had quite a long conversation. Poor girl. I said my bit.

If they are underpaid they should go and get another good honest job!
And yes, every minute of my day is important to me - so time wasters should not phone here with their sob stories and hard sell.
Particularly those with foreign accents.

Probably because they are not scammers or fake charity collectors. They are a 30 year old company that fund-raise for NFP charities only

These people are a menace. Once they have your number they will spam call you till the end of days. How this can be legal is beyond me. It's borderline stalking.

Scammers masturbate behind closed doors, trying to trick the general public ! Do not answer any of their calls & delete all their emails. Forward any of their details to the police.
