I’ve had numerous calls over the past few weeks from Yeppoon, 07 prefix..different numbers. I don’t p/u ANY calls from unknown numbers anymore - sometimes multiple calls, sms and emails from bloody idiot time-wasters in the same day. Worse now since Medibank issue. They don’t leave vm ever, therefore unimportant 🤷🏼♀️

Caller: lea Told she was calling from Visa/Mastercard "verification centre" in Melbourne to verify a transaction on a card that looked suspicious. First it was a card in my partner's name, but she didn't seemed concerned she wasn't talking to the card holder. Asked if I could authorise the transaction as legitimate ($800 to Nuland or something for a medical expense for a Tim Watson). I said no I wouldn't authorise it, and was then told that she had to transfer me to the 'cancellation department' who would need some information to verify my identity(!). I again asked where she was calling from, and was told the 'Visa/Mastercard verification in Melbourne', despite the area code being (07) and it really sounding like an Indian call centre in the background. At that point I hung up.
