Caller type: Scam call
Location: Australia
Caller: Ebay Itunes card scammers

Indian accent, told me hackers from California had bought an iTunes giftcard for $299 using my eBay account. Wanted me to open playstore so I could complete a cancellation request. When I said no he tried to tell me I needed to as the hackers were much smarter than me. When I laughed and said gee thanks! he hung up on me.

Caller: Supposably Ebay

Missed the call, they left a generated message saying “there is a purchase request for x amount…” rang back and a man answered saying it was EBay. So not sure if it’s legit.

Computerised voice once answered stating that they (eBay) have received a purchase order for $200. Before I cancelled the call. Funny thing is I don’t have an eBay account and it’s called paying bills at the post office in person wherever possible.
