The caller let an SMS that said, Hello. My name is Julian calling on behalf of the police in your state or territory from the Social Research Centre."
Obviously some kind of phishing scam.

Hello my names is James calling from the social research centre -scam caller trying to retrieve details by saying they are calling on behalf of the police. I hung up and they called again but only for two rings and then they hung up as i didn't answer the phone. they use a local number to try and hoodwink you

Said he's from calling on behalf of QLD Police. He asked for my postcode which I gave then my suburb, I also gave the answer. Then he said we have enough from your area then hung up.
Was my phone call long enough for the scammers to get into my phone ?

Received a text message a couple of days ago that the police would be calling me for a survey .. but the number didn’t come through as QPS just a local number.

Got a txt message a few days earlier.Say they going to phone on behalf of the police?Interesting it is from Qld while I am living in W.A.
