Caller: Male caller

This call showed as coming from Brisbane, Queensland. When I answered (twice) there was quite a long silence, followed by a "plop" sound and background noise of a call centre. A man's voice with an Indian accent then told me that his name was Alex and that he was from the Visa security department. I am fairly sure that I had a call from this same person a few days ago, only it was from a Sydney number at that time. He asked me how I was, so I replied "I'm very well thanks Alex" and waited for him to continue. There were several seconds of silence, then the call was terminated from the other end. Perhaps he recognized my voice from a few days ago! I would say that these scammers are hi-jacking Australian numbers (probably from overseas) and using them for their scamming purposes. I later tried calling the number back, only to hear a recorded voice telling me that my call could not be connected, so it was definitely a scam.
