These guys have rung me many times, first time was from a mobile number. Now this number. New it was a scam straight from get go. Abused the $%&# out of the thief on other end of the phone. She said she was reporting to police... Lol...

Woman, English accent asked for me by name - my first initial & surname. From 'First Response' and said the call was in relation to having a car accident in the last 12 months. when I laughed & said I hadn't, she apologised & said it must be an error on their end. I asked where she had gotten my number from & she said their database. She also said she would remove it. Since reading all the comments here I see it is a scam. Let's see if they dare to ring again.

First Response Team - advising me I had recently been in an accident. I think I would know if I had and would have contacted my own insurer!
I have had a similar call from a mobile number as well.

My mobile and all my contact numbers are on Do Not Call register ... I want these people shut down, fined and jailed ... fine not to be less than $10,000,000 personal for each person involved plus $200,000,000 for whoever set them up!

comments were helpful. I didn't answer when they called. I just checked the number on this site. Second type of phone call - I had a smiliar call asking me coincidentally about someone having bummped into my car last year. I had made an insurance claim - will report to ombudsman or ACC.

I have received 2 of these calls in the past week. Coincidentally after I lodged a claim for storm damage on my car with NRMA. It seems to me that somehow these people are getting information from insurance companies when you lodge a claim. It is a serious breach of trust and I have lodged a complaint with the ACCC.
