This is very harassing me. I have received many calls by this year and they claim to be insurance companies. This is an Indian man in the call. He asked me if there was any car accident in the past 12 months, I said yes and he tried to ask more informantion about my personal detail, such as my name, address, plate number, the location of the accident..... Same as everyone who commented, cant call back the number and it would be disconnect or the number is not registered. There are many times got a phone call from this "company", same indian guys, some times women or man, ask a same question. I am wondering if they are legitimate companies, like RAA or Allianz. They will leave a message for their company number, the name of person in charge, company address, company name. Or we can get a letter from them.

Caller: Australian Claims Authority Lady identified herself as Ashleigh (Indian accent) and advised she was calling from the Australian Claims Authority. Asked to speak to someone to "Ms Smith" (not actual name) The number and name was clearly taken from white pages as I never updated my surname for the listing, when I married 13 years ago. This makes it easier to identify a scammer. I asked for the ABN which she provided, I asked for their address, which she provided and return phone number. (searched on web later, incorrect details). I asked her what she wanted to know and she said it was in relation to an accident, she was not from the insurance company but it was relating to personal injury (indemnity claim). I asked from details of the vehicle involved in the accident, she was not able to provide this. As you can see I had a bit of time on my hands :). She said that as it was relating to personal injury they do not have the details of the vehicle. I suggested that if they had access to any claim (which she acknowledged they did) then they would have access to all details in relation to the accident and claim. She said that someone had provided, at the scene of the accident, my name and phone number, yet she was not able to provide me with a first name given. She said she did not have access to this. When I mentioned I knew this was all a scam, she denied it, I advised that I would provide all details to the authorities and she welcomed that because what they were doing was legal. She was very well scripted. What have I learnt from this? Don't answer the home phone, everyone else contacts me on mobile. :)

Caller: Samuel ? Scam Caller Claimed to be from Accident Claim Management, wanted details of any accidents I have been involved in. When I asked for an ABN number they provided 92 366 288 135 which is actually South Australian Department of Planning Transport and Infrastructure. They claim to operate in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne (but oddly not in South Australia?)

This is a scam claming you have been in a car accident. I wish these calls could be stopped. It is an invasion of privacy. There is no honesty in the world today.
