A male with a ?Philippine accent called and said he was from the "Commbank Fraud Detection" unit. He told me a female had given all my info (name, address, DOB) in order to make a $400 purchase on Amazon, and another on Temu but they had blocked it. He asked if I had received any texts asking to verify the details and then started asking me single questions about my card details with a lot of guff in between these questions. He then asked me to confirm my card number which he had just told me they would never ask for. I told him I would not give my card number out on the phone. When I said I would hang up and call Commbank myself he started to argue with me about him being from the Commbank Fraud Detection unit. He seemed eager for me to stay on the line with him but he'd blown it at that point. I called Commbank (132221) and they confirmed it was a scam.
