hangs up when you answer

Claimed to be from "my bank" re suspicious activity on my account, 2 x transactions from California by a "Malcom Melbourn" amazon & ebay when i started asking questions he said he couldn't answer due to privacy legislation so i asked him which bank he was calling from, he said Commonwealth bank i told him i don't have an account with them he hung up.

This number called twice today, I did not answer and they did not leave a message. Reading the other comments here, the number is from persistent scammers or dodgy callers

Caller: Scam claiming to be Telstra

Calls about my Telstra service and stated they had a deal of 40% discount and when questioned starts saying they do not understand and then hangs up when I stated it was a scam

Didn't recognise the number so didn't answer and they didn't leave a message, came up on the phone as fraud and after checking here it is definitely fraudsters at work.

Automated voice claiming to be from "Paypal Bank Security" wanting private details for verification purposes, I hung up and blocked the number.

Caution: shien text, but Not customer

Claimed to be from Commonwealth Bank questioning whether I’d authorised a transaction. I was playing along and asked which bank were you from then claimed he was from the ANZ bank. When I queried but you said Commonwealth at the start …. Then hung up on me.

Hangs up when answered.

Said"Amazon prime problem with account" or something. Click! (Me hanging up!,)

Rings three times and stops, no message. Scam

A recorded message from 'my bank' said an unusual amount was about to be deducted from my credit card, was this correct, plus 1 or 2 for yes or no. Clearly this phone number has been used many times to scam people - why can't it be traced, shutdown & someone found/charged?

Caller: Claimed to be from the "NBN Department"

Usual long delay. Said his name was Kevin. Yeah, Kevin from Mumbai right?
NBN never calls anyone, so SEE YA.

Location shows where my city is, luckily check online before decided.

Just had another one from "Amazon" about an overseas San Francisco USA purchase. Can't be done on my cards. Have blocked overseas purchases on all cards.

i missed the call thankfully

I received a call from this number but didn't answer. Assumed it was a scammer.

I didn't answer & called back from work landline, message saying "I'm sorry your call can not be completed at this time"
