If you don't recognize the numbers, do not answer your phone. They get paid for every call that is answered. They are all bloody scammers from India and the numbers are growing once again. I get at least 3 every day now.

Caller: 'Marrie' claiming to be from Telstra A female with an Indian accent stated she was from Telstra and that I was being offered a 50% discount off my monthly bill for the next 6 months. She then arranged for a text message to be sent to my phone from Microsoft, with a reset code. She then wanted me to provide this code over the phone to verify my email address. I found this odd as typically companies wouldn't send you a code from Microsoft (Microsoft Authenticator), let alone ask you to provide the code over the phone. I mentioned to the caller that I thought it was odd to receive a code from Microsoft and asked why it wasn't from Telstra. She then arranged for a second code to be sent to my phone via text message, this time it was from Telstra with a one-time passcode. The message stated that if I didn't request the code to call Telstra on 13 22 00. The caller asked me to provide the first code over the phone again, which I refused. I advised her with all the scam calls happening at the moment, how can I be sure she's not a scammer? btw - by this stage I had already googled the number she called on and found this thread. Whilst she was able to tell me my email address and last few numbers of my phone number, she referred to me using a name I hadn't used for many years - first red flag. The caller provided me with her 'employee ID number - 'D117723' and said I could call Telstra to verify her name and ID after the call. She said the offer was time sensitive and that she had already sent me the code to go ahead with the offer, so continue to ask me to provide them, which I refused. I told her if the offer was genuine then time wouldn't be an issue. She became frustrated with me and hung up. I immediately called Telstra, spoke with someone in the billing department and they confirmed the employee ID was false and did not connect to anyone with the name she provided. Additionally, Telstra advised every time someone from Telstra calls and interacts with the customer, they have to leave case notes on the customer's profile. Telstra confirmed there were no notes on the file to reflect this call being made. Telstra operator advised they were not aware of any genuine offer being made to customers - 50% off monthly bill for the next 6 months. In short, it is 100% a scam call.

Caller: A f’ing scammer Indian lady asking for someone else. I said wrong number. Then proceeded to ask if I’d bought an iPhone 16 from Amazon. I replied “No, you’re a scammer” they hung up. Only reason I continued with call initially is was close to dads nursing home number and they have Indian ladies there who call me a couple of times a week.

I missed this call, but I wasn't expecting anyone to call and I don't live in the state that the area code indicates it's from. I can only assume this is a scam given the other experiences on this thread.

Kept saying "Hello, Hello, Hello." after my answering machine took the call as they let my machine run on and on and on before they hang up and all this does is stop calls that could leave a valid message.

Recorded message informing me of two unauthorised transactions on my account and that I should contact them to sort the problem. This is the second time I received this message with no apparent activity on my account. Ignore them, but check your account in case they have accessed it without you knowing.

Answered the call and listened. Caller said hello? several times and hung on for a unusually long time. Did not say purpose. Sounded like a Australian young woman. Eventually she gave up after about a minute.
