I answered the phone & the caller claimed to be from Telstra calling about my internet. He did not ask for me by name. When I initially didn't respond to his reason for his call, he asked if I was still there. I said that I was & that he was telling the story. Upon my saying that he hung up. When caller says that they are from Telstra I say to them that when I call Telstra I have to go through a Proof Of Identity so I think that they should when they call me. I then ask them to tell me something only Telstra & I would know & make the suggestion of how much my last phone bill was. They generally say that they are from the technical area so don't have access to that information. So I then say that if they can't tell me anything that only Telstra & I would know then they should get the information before they call me back. They usually abruptly end the call then. Sometimes they try the "my Telstra ID number is" as proof but when I ask how I can verify the number or say that I will terminate the call & contact Telstra to verify the number & they can call back later then they hang up. All the hallmarks of a scammer.
