Caller: Male caller This call showed as coming from Brisbane, Queensland. When I answered there was quite a long silence followed by a "plop" sound, then background noise like a call centre and an Indian-accented man told me that he was from the Bank security section (didn't say which one) and my bank card had been used for a transaction of $800 in the USA. He asked me if the transaction might be fraudulent and I replied that it was all OK, which seemed to confuse him somewhat. I then said "thank you" and hung up. Certainly not a very convincing scam attempt.
