Caller: Indian scammer.

Scammer pretending that he from Visa Mastercard security division and they detect unlawful transactions. There is no such division Visa and MasterCard are separate companies. Don't talk with this crook, report him directly.

Missed a call from this number today. When I called it back an american recorded voice said "The number you have dialled is not in use" - Well how did someone use it to call me?????? Anyway, I thought it was probably just another useless scammer. This is a Qld number - I am in SA & only called it back because a family member is holidaying in Qld at present & I thought it could be connected to them, otherwise I wouldn't have bothered.

Pretending to be my bank. They knew my name. Asking if I authorise an international transaction. Wouldn’t give me any details to ‘verify’ they were legit or which account they were taking about. I asked for a reference number so I could call the bank myself. It was only 4 digits long. No ticket system generates a number only 4 digits long.

Answered the call but didn't say anything, they hung up straight away

Someone called from the "visa and mastercard company" to report a fraudulent transaction. When I asked what bank he said ANZ and as I have accounts through there I asked more. He said it was a transaction by someone in New Zealand and when I said that wasn't a legit transaction he "transferred me through to the cancellation department" - after being on hold the same guy returned saying "ING banking" when I questioned what bank he was from he corrected himself to ANZ. I asked what credit card number the transaction applied to and he said a card starting with 4. Absolute scam. Do not hand over any information to callers from this number as they are not legit

Caller: Says they from Telstra

Very chaotic background noise. Strong Indian accent. Says he’s Richard from Telstra ringing to find out why my IP has gone from private to public and asking me to turn my computer on. I asked them to call back in two hours time. I didn’t ask them to give me any identifying details about my account which I could have done had I thought about it. Came to check their number and saw the above note. When you call the number back it says it’s unlisted. I was 99% sure it’s a scam but we have had a lot of internet issues locally recently so just wanted to double check before dismissing entirely out of hand.
