These grubs called me today and said they work under Telstra Australia. The operator started telling me how often I used my home phone + wifi internet and that I was paying to much for my use. He then continued on about offering me a cheaper deal in which he started coming out with dollar figures. He then asked what colour my modem was in which he said, he'll send a new one out which will cost $89 I refused in which he reneged on the price and said it was free. The idiot kept talking where he asked for my dob on which I made one up. He further asked for my medicare card number or drivers licence number which I cut him off and informed him that I'm not interested and if he was legit working contracted to Telstra he should have my personal details as I am the account holder. The clown instantly got upset and became quite irate. I then said. P#%@ off and hung up.

Further to this j contacted Telstra in which they were as confused as me...

have had them calling up to 10 times a day for months, have tried answering and saying nothing but they always hang up after a few seconds and if you call them back its an unattended extension - so its a computer randomly dialling all the time. Just called Telstra on 1800 905 996 and got the number blocked so they can't call anymore - apparently this is all Telstra can do...

THE WORST! We are a business and keep getting calls from this number several times a day. How do we stop since they hang up on us when we answer?!

We probably won't hear from them today because they might all go down to Sydney to watch the cricket, if you know what I mean!

My friend got a call from these muppets and provided all his info including his direct debit details. Minutes later when he checked his account statement had two wilthdraws to Western Union for $720 each. Luckily he called the bank, cancelled the card and the transactions.

Yes, did the same thing just now. Good that the calls will stop for me at least. Wish I could have stopped them for everybody else too.. Disappointing that Telstra said they couldn't do anything more about it without me requesting a "trace", which then result in a series of warning letters. I don't have time to crusade against sh**heads doing calls like this.

RRRRR send a bill to this number with a massive fine for annoying people. $1 per call sounds good! received over 10 calls in last couple of hours.

We have just phoned telstra about this number and telstra asked us to record the exact time they phone. I am a small business and they are calling constantly. We are to give them the results from now on and then Telstra will pass this number onto the legal team - so I guess that's a start.

I've had the same! I'm in perth too.. At least ten times yesterday and already 5 times this morning. I answer and they just hang up so annoying!

This is just stupid. Something has to be done about it.

If you are with Telstra just call 1800 805 996 their staff will block the number for you. Just did this myself after enduring a whole day of calls from (07) 3180 1582

They keep calling me 20 times today!! I am from a surgery in Sydney and they have tied up the phone lines. When I try and call back, it says the number is unavailable! Maybe they should just call a psychiatrist!

PS these people are very rude and argumentative.
