Said I was in an accident and I don’t even own a car lol

Caller: Guy with a strong accent

Called me and mumbled something at the start and said he was calling to follow up a car accident I reported so I asked for more details and he said it was just before Christmas and wanted to check on my follow up services. I said I haven’t been in a car accident and he said sorry there must be a fake file there. Little scary that they knew my name and details? Wonder where they got it from

This number called me. Unknown number so I rejected the call and then checked against this website.
lo and behold, it seems it's a scam.

Caller: Scammer

As written on previous post. Woman with north of England accent saying it was a follow up service. I hung up straight away.

I called back number (07) 3106 3826 was put on hold music but no one answered the call.

A real nuisance - they keep calling on different numbers - I block them all

I answered the call to someone asking if I was me. I hung up and called the number back right away.
It says the number is disconnected.

Caller: a ghost

I didn't answer the call and when I rang it back 4 mins later "Optus advises that the number you dialled has been disconnected" LOL

Had a call from this number this morning and chose not to answer it as it was unknown to me. Glad I did and have now blocked it on my phone .

I asked who was speaking and they hung up.

Got a call from 31063826. Thank goodness for you guys sharing information on this scam. I didn't answer nor return call.

Caller: Irish bloke

I got the same type of thing, but I told him to give me his personal number and I would call him back later. I then told him he was a scamming mongrel and to piss off! He said I was a bit rude :)

Scam

1 minute pause before they spoke, then a male asked me if I was my wife. I said no and they hung up. Pretty sure it is probably a gift card scam, have been getting a lot of these lately, they always call my mobile but ask for my wife by name.

just had a call from this number-heavy breathing then asked for a different name to mine. I replied No! and hung up. Scam!!!

I thought I'd string them along to waste their time and see what happens - what they'd ask for in relation to the accident I'd apparently had because there were "entitlements" owing to me. When I told the next level of the process (another Irishman with a thinner accent) that I knew it was a scam, he became all defensive and demanded an apology from me!
