Male indian called. Said he was calling on behalf of charities seeking survey answers. Asked about PCYC, Cancer Centres, Green Peace etc. Wasn't selling anything and didn't ask for donations. In the end, assumed my name was someone else, tried to confirm details that were incorrect, but I didn't correct him and then hung up. To be honest, it all seemed a bit scammy.

Phone call from a female with such a strong Indian accent that not a word could be understood.

Caller: "survey republic"

I didn't see the number they called from. But they said they are from survey republic. Seems legit (sorry to all the super paranoid people here). They had my details and were asking if I would support a list of charities. One of which I had already supported before, which is why I think they had my details as I don't give my details out anywhere. She was polite, said she would remove my address when asked, let me change my name, and I said I would not support any of the charities that she read out and she thanked me and that was it. No harm done.
Sometimes charities legitimately use these kind of services to get supporters (I know because I've called the charities themselves before to confirm someone isn't using them to phish) and they do sound call center-ish (....because they are call centres). I still wouldn't sign up to anything over the phone (I do everything via workplace giving to save time and money going to commissions). But that doesn't mean its a scam. Just get into the habit of donating directly via the website instead if interested to be sure.

Another of the 073 numbers that leaves no message. BUT this one waits until answering machine cuts in then leaves silence for long enough that you have to go clear the machine. Getting tricky aren’t they .. so annoying

Caller: "Charlie from Survey Republic"

Said he was doing surveys for charities across Australia. Was very insistent but when I said no I don't do surveys over the phone, he hung up. A genuine survey company would have gracefully said thank you. Scam - beware.

Phone call that when answered gave no response - sounds like robocall testing for active numbers.

Claimed to be a Brand Knowledge Survey .. I hung up telling him I was not interested.

12.58pm. Our landline goes straight to voicemail. A very long pause and then a hang up. Genuine callers leave messages.

SEEMS SUSPICIOUS

Woman with heavy Indian accent trying to elicit personal info from me under the guise of confirming details on behalf of some charity. Clearly trying to obtain info that may be used to try to steal identity. Do not confirm or provide any details whatsoever to these low lifes.

Called but hung up before the message bank kicked in.
A sure sign it is not someone with whom I need to speak.

Received a call on my rarely used landline, no message left when I didn't pick up.

Caller claimed to be surveying on behalf of charities & their fund raising initiatives, told them I wasn't interested & hung-up.

hung up when i asked who was calling. sounded like a "call centre" lots of background noise
